Singing with a mouth full of food...

I could barely contain myself when "Spike" broke out into song at the dinner table tonight with his mouth full of toast! He is singing his rendition of "Zaccheus". Enjoy!!!

Cheese!

Candid moments at the dinner table! This is "Tuff" after eating a bowl of oranges(hence the drool) saying "cheese". He is always this happy, especially when he thinks he is going to be going to Aunt Kelli's house!!!

Captain Underpants!

Shannan sent "Spike" up to get a new pair of underpants this afternoon, and this is what he came downstairs with... I guess he thought his underpants would make a good hat... 'nuf said...

More Mommy time anyone?

My kids have been adjusting well to my extra hours at work these past two weeks. I think tonight, they'd had enough. This was taken at 11:00 tonight. I couldn't tell you the last time my kids were not in their beds at that time of night. Spike is out cold. I was still trying to get Tuff to settle down when daddy took the picture. He was just playing right beside me like this for about an hour. Tuff was in bed until I went to put Spike down. He woke up and that was the beginning of a very long two hour struggle. When Tuff got up, Spike thought he needed to be up too. The rest is history!
Between extra hours at work, Dr appointments, regular commitments and everyday life, my time with the kids has been lacking the quality they need. Overall, they've been very flexible, I just think tonight was their limit. If I would hold one, the other would cry and back and forth we went. Who can blame them? I am feeling the same way. Thankfully daddy doesn't have to work tomorrow so we are planning to do some family things and hopefully this will help us all! They are in bed and asleep as I write this and hopefully will be there for the remainder of the night. That's where I'm headed too! Good night to all!

Easter Bunny Visit

The Easter Bunny made a stop at the local DQ tonight. We took the kids to visit him there. Spike just couldn't get enough of him. I said "He's the BEST Easter Bunny I ever knew!"
Tuff, also enjoyed himself. Since he's now beginning to form words, every time the bunny walked by, he would call out in his one jibberish way and just wave away. Who knows, maybe the Easter Bunny speaks that language. He may have understood every word he was saying. He did do a lot of smiling and waving back!

The Red Cast...

Well, "Uh-Oh's" leg is broken!!! He has a small fracture on the tip of his fibula. We decided to get him a "Bucky Badger Red" cast to commemorate the Big Ten b-ball champs!!! It is rather pathetic to watch him limp around the room. He is totally dealing with the hassle of walking with a stiff leg though. The first night, he didn't know what to do, but after getting over his initial issues with the cast, he dealt with it. It is funny to watch him adjust to getting up and down from the floor and picking things up without being able to bend that leg. Once again, the amazing ability of children to cope with just about anything life throws their way. He has to wear the cast for 2 weeks, and then get some more X-ray's to confirm it is healed. Keep praying for him and "Spike" to not break anything else in the process!!!!

We had a great day today celebrating my niece's 12th birthday. I remember when she was born... I wasn't even married then... I guess that makes me kind of old??? She is growing into quite a little lady, a good soccer goalie, and a clone of her mother!!! She also is almost as tall as her mother(her feet are already bigger). I am sure I will be blogging about this very thing in 10-15 years regarding my two bruisers, if not sooner. At least I can still win the wrestling matches as of this afternoon...

My first post...

Ahhh! I finally did it. I always thought this was rather stupid, but if someone, someday can learn something from us, then so be it. I am not saying they will learn anything of value, probably more along the lines of "what not to do"...

Today, we had to get our second son, "Uh-Oh", his second set of X-rays for his ankle. He has been limping along for about 2 weeks now, and at first we thought it was just something little ,but now we know differently. Of course you ask, "How does a 18 month old break his ankle?" I follow that with this question, if you have met my two boys, you know how!!! It seems a right of passage for a boy to not make it through the 12th grade without breaking something, even though I have never broken a bone ever. I must admit, we all were a bit scared when the doctor requested we take x-rays. But, it could have been worse. Thank God kids are made out of rubber.

Keep the little guy in your prayers!!
