Getting ready to head downstairs this morning for breakfast, Slick says to me, "I ride on your back?" I start to move and Spike says to me, " Can I ride on your back, mommy?" To which I answer, "What do I look like?" "A hippo!" answered Slick!
Hmmmmmmmmmmm!

Oh dear?!?!?!

We've been to see "Santa" a few times in the last week. When I asked Slick what he told Santa he wanted he said, "A Santa buddy car!" Hmmmm. To which I replied, "Well, you'll have to show me what a santa buddy car is. I don't think I've ever seen one of them." So Spike answers, "Mom, you'll see what it is when Santa brings it!"
Uh-oh, we're in trouble!!!!!!!!! HAHA!

To set the stage for this conversation...
Mommy downstairs working on some housework
Boys upstairs playing, very nicely too!
From upstairs, mommy hears Slick YELL!
"He's hurt! There's blood!!"
Mommy: "WHAT? Who's hurt?"
Slick: "Henry! He's hurt and he's bleeding!"
Mommy: "What?"
Spike: "Mom, it's Henry, he's bleeding!"
Mommy: "Ok, well you be the Dr for him!"
Spike: "Ok, mom, I'll take care of it!"

UGH! Heart attack anyone? I thought for sure something was wrong with on of the boys, but NO!!!!!! Henry's a STUFFED DOG! Where the blood came from, I'll never know! UGH! The mind of boys vs. the mind of their MOTHER! Gotta love it!

Bedtime Prayers Part 2

Spike's prayer on Friday night...
"Dear Jesus, Thank you for my mom and my dad and my brother. Please help us to get a baby sister, cause I'd like that. I'd name her Brit, cause I'd like that. That's all!"
Spike's prayer tonight...
"Dear Jesus, Thank you for the food, (can I say that mom?...Thank you for my mom and my dad and brother. And thank you for ME!"
HAHA! "Out of the mouth of babes!" Gotta love the honesty!

And so begins the season!

We went and had our "annual" family photo shoot the other night! They took 96 pictures! UGH! How do you decide? Well, Scrooge came along with us so it was almost too easy! (HAHA, I love you, babe!) Actually, we had a great time. I'll post some of the "funny" ones too! Enjoy!

Great Date #1

Tonight we were able to drop the kids off for a "play date" while we went on a DATE!! We love those nights! Anyway, a friend of ours told us about "The Great Date Experiment". To make a long story short, there are six dates all planned out for you. On each date, there is a different "essential" to focus on. Tonight's date's essential was to "nurture romance". They gave us things to do and topics to discuss. One of the steps was to take a picture of ourselves together. We took one on our phones! HAHA! That was fun. But I decided to take a "real" one on our camera, just because it's something we never do! So here it is!

Yep, that's as far as Spike would go! Slick, didn't care! He makes the BEST of everything! You would never have guessed he was fighting a fever. I was SHOCKED when I took him in and that he temp was 102!!!!!!!!!!!

AH! Caught a picture at the right time! That's about as long as he was in!

We've had "germs" in our house all week. Slick had a fever for three days and now has the stuffy nose/cough thing going on. We've been pretty much "house bound" for the week. So while daddy went to church with out us again this week, we had to be creative. The boys are offically tired of watching movies. Now that they're "on the mend" they want to get moving and doing. So while I was washing dishes and attempting to clean up in the kitchen, I gave them paint!

Yes, that is paint all over the floor. They're still learning to keep it on the paper!
So after I cleaned that up, I went to take my shower, and when I came down, this is what I found! Minus all 6 couch cushions. I put them back on before I thought to take a picture!

All this of course after taking nearly every book of the bookshelf to "read" this morning! UGH!
Do you think we need to get OUT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Fall Fun!

Today we went to the pumpkin patch. It's been raining here for the past couple of days so it was great to get out in the beautiful sunshine! We really couldn't have asked for a better autumn day!

Rainy Day Fun

We've had a busy week and it's cold and rainy here today, so we decided to lay low at home today! So here's what we did...


And today was the first time we actually let Slick "help". He was loving every minute of it. I couldn't get him to sit still long enough to take a picture. He wanted to take a "silly face" picture, so here it is!

And of course, Spike's very proud of his work!

And here are the finished products. Not quite the way the picture shows them to look, but if you use your imagination, you can see the little piggies they're supposed to be! HAHA!
