Gingerbread House
Our first attempt at decorating a gingerbread house. It might not look like the picture we wanted it to look like but, in a mommy's eyes it's PERFECT. Spike was just so excited to be doing this. Al throughout the process he kept saying, "Mommy, this is so fun!" and. "I'm having so much fun doing this, Mommy!" It made it all worthwhile.
We even talked daddy into helping!
The finished product!
Ok, so it's not totally complete until the vehicle is parked in front!!!!!!

A little boy after mommy's heart!
Spike and I had a few minutes while brother was still napping today. We decided to make a batch of cookies. Such a fun time for me. Of course, the kitchen is a big mess when we're through, bit it's worth it!
And of course you can't make cookies with out sampling the batter!

Busy, busy day!
Community Day in town brought some fun activities today. We went to the parade. That was exciting for the kids.
Spike, obviously enjoying the parade! Now look at them. It was so hot, that they "sweated" right down his nose. They are resting on his lip! Didn't seem to bother him though, he just kept right on watching.
After the parade, we went home to swim for a while. Spike has been asking to swim since we closed the pool last fall. It was fun to get in there again and I'm planning to be in everyday from now until September. They both loved it and wanted to stay in! Of course, I didn't get pictures of that today, so we'll save that for another day!
After swimming for a while, we grabbed a bite to eat then went back to the Community Day to catch firework show! Ben and I enjoyed it, but the is how Spike spent the evening! That is until he fell FAST ASLEEP! Snoring even!
Tuff was very relaxed and seemed to enjoy them!
Over all, a FUN day for all!Monday, April 28, 2008
The boys...
Life is ever so exciting, and then you throw in three boys and three ice cream sundaes... We went to Friendly's tonight while mommy was out with her girlfriends from church. It is amazing that we made it out with only a little chocolate on our faces...
We are enjoying very nice spring weather this last week, with temperatures in the high 70/low 80's. The boys and Shannan have been living out in the driveway watching our neighbors' addition going up... Hope you all are enjoying your spring as well...

Singing with a mouth full of food...
I could barely contain myself when "Spike" broke out into song at the dinner table tonight with his mouth full of toast! He is singing his rendition of "Zaccheus". Enjoy!!!

More Mommy time anyone?
My kids have been adjusting well to my extra hours at work these past two weeks. I think tonight, they'd had enough. This was taken at 11:00 tonight. I couldn't tell you the last time my kids were not in their beds at that time of night. Spike is out cold. I was still trying to get Tuff to settle down when daddy took the picture. He was just playing right beside me like this for about an hour. Tuff was in bed until I went to put Spike down. He woke up and that was the beginning of a very long two hour struggle. When Tuff got up, Spike thought he needed to be up too. The rest is history!
Between extra hours at work, Dr appointments, regular commitments and everyday life, my time with the kids has been lacking the quality they need. Overall, they've been very flexible, I just think tonight was their limit. If I would hold one, the other would cry and back and forth we went. Who can blame them? I am feeling the same way. Thankfully daddy doesn't have to work tomorrow so we are planning to do some family things and hopefully this will help us all! They are in bed and asleep as I write this and hopefully will be there for the remainder of the night. That's where I'm headed too! Good night to all!
