Birthday Present time!

 FINALLY get to ride!

 Think he likes it?  What 8 year old wouldn't like a BRAND NEW bike for their birthday?

 Yes, he DOES wear a helmet!  Daddy was watching him again!  He just HAD to try it out and couldn't get the helmet fast enough!  Oh boys will be boys!

And yep, we're getting ready for Valentine's Day around here!  Like mother like son!  This is what Slick made me today!  LOVE that they get excited too!

So I totally forgot to take Spike for his "birthday donut" yesterday!  How could that happen?
Well, we did it today!  Yep, a white lightening!  He was so kind to understand!  This birthday just doesn't end!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SPIKE!

Already for the birthday boy to wake up!

 He liked his "surprise" better than his brother!  He didn't want to take it down!

 Of course, none other than Red Robin for dinner!

 But all of a sudden after only 1 bite of Mac n' Cheese, he felt sick, so we went home to lay on the couch for the night!  Kind of a bummer of a birthday day!  Oh well, at least AFV makes it a little better!

Birthday Party time!
Spike turns 8 on Monday!  Today is the day we will celebrate with the family!
He asked for a race car cake!  And his favorite colors are blue and green!

 LOVE it!  Thanks to Gramma Dale!

 And thanks to Grandma Vawter, we have a new hat!  I really wish I would have been videoing!  He was SO EXCITED!  Oh and I love it too!

 And of course no birthday in this house is complete with out LEGOS!

Today is Grandpa Vawter's Birthday!  We hate to be away from family all the time, but even more so on special days like birthdays!  We missed you!  Hope you had a GREAT day!

Birthday Presents and Hand-Me-Downs

The day after a birthday (for a 7 year old, that is) means assembling and playing! That's exactly what the boys did!

It also means taking pictures of your new toys!

Of course all of this is going on while mommy is fixing up their bedroom.

He's the story. My mom was getting a "new to us" bunk bed for her house. When she got to the place to pick it up, she decided it would be better suited for my boys. So while I was preparing for the party, the men did a switch-a-roo with the beds. I didn't have time to do anything with it on Saturday, so I did it on Sunday. Here's the finished product. We LOVE them! Fair trade I think!

Spike turns 7!

Since Spike's birthday was on a Saturday this year, we got to do a few extra things! It worked out that his "partner in crime" could spend the night Friday into his BIG day Saturday!

The plan was to pick up the troops after school and head to Dave and Buster's for dinner!

So that's where it starts...

Of course, we MUST race while we're there! You know the trip would not be complete if there were no vehicle (of any kind) involved!

After dinner, we TRIED to get a "family picture" but...

They obviously had NOT had enough playing time! So they had to squeeze some more in! (Yep, that's them all the way over there!)

Oh, here it is! PAUSE for a quick picture. (Some one isn't happy!)

Now here we are BRIGHT and EARLY birthday morning!

Birthdays are NOT complete with out a donut for breakfast, you know!

Now FINALLY comes present time!

Then cake time! Thanks to Gramma Dale for another FABULOUS cake. He wanted a "Blue Ford Tractor"! I'd say he got it!

Package!

The day has arrived! Spike's been waiting for this day for about a week! He's still got 8 days till his birthday, but he IS my PLANNER! He just KNEW it was coming! And yes, he was right! Grandma Vawter (and Grandpa too!) came through! Spike and Daddy's birthday package arrived today! Do you think he's excited!

Of course, even though his birthday is NOT today! There was still a little something in there for him for today! And Slick too!

Now to hold him off on his real gift for another 8 days! Wish me luck!

Happy Birthday!

Today's a big day in our house! We celebrate 2 birthdays! Slick shares his birthday with Gramma Dale! Some days he thinks it's GREAT and other days, not so much! Of course today, it was just fine!

Here they are! Happy Birthday, Muzz and Slick!

We started our day with none other then a stop at good old Dunkin Donuts! A big hit, as usual!

He's such a clown! When he wants to, he can really ham it up! He's a ball of energy and very dramatic (not sure where THAT comes from! HAHA!)

Brother got in on the action too! He's not short on the sweet tooth, that's for sure!

Munchkins for a treat at school, can't go wrong there either!

He spent the day at school where he shared his munchkins, his class sang to him and he got to pick from the prize box! What a great day, right!

We then headed off to Dave and Busters! The boys had never been there before, neither had Gramma! Of course, we can't just sit and wait for our food, we must make faces and be silly, right?

Then we got to business! GAMES!!!!!!!!!

Slick wanted a "merican flag" cake this year. I'm really not sure why, but I think Gramma did a fabulous job! Good thing we have her around, right?

Happy Birthday to 2 VERY special people in my life! Can't imagine life with out you!
